Käringholmen Gränö

The kitchen has a large wood stove you can cook on, as well as an electric countertop stove with 2 plates and a small oven. Perculator coffee maker. Only cold water in the kitchen tap, boil hot water if necessary. Refrigerator with freezer compartment (tall cabinet). There is no cooker hood so meat, poultry, fish are best cooked on the grill (avoid frying indoors). There are several charcoal grills in different sizes. An extra kitchen bench outside and cooking on the grill makes food preparation and washing up a wonderful nature experience.
2 bedrooms in the main cabin with comfortable spring beds. Bedroom 1 with 2 beds together here there is also a TV, bedroom 2 with 2 single beds apart. Sheltered terrace under roof.

Newly built sauna house 15 m2 with large wood-fired sauna and a lovely relaxation room where you can sit and relax with the beautiful lake view in sight. Here it is close to the jetty and a refreshing bath. In the sauna you heat water in a container on the heater to use when washing by scooping water over your body on a small wooden deck.
Dry toilet with fan in a separate building.

Guest cottage 16 m2 with 2 bedrooms; a larger room with 2 comfortable single beds (spring mattresses) and wonderful views of the water.
There is also a smaller room with 2 bunk beds with foam mattresses, possibly can be used as an addition for short term guests on request.

There are two jetties, the boat jetty and the bathing jetty. There is a little sand along the jetty for those who prefer to walk from the beach, otherwise it is a natural beach.

Käringholmen is an island with only 5 properties and each property has more than 10,000 m2 of land so there is no congestion on the island but a lot of privacy, quiet and undisturbed. You can move around fairly freely on the island, but the residents protect and respect the immediate private surroundings of each property. None of the islands offer any longer running routes, but on their own plot there is a sawdust track (300 m) where many laps have been run. If you want to walk in hilly terrain in real primeval forest, the neighboring island of Ramö is almost completely undeveloped and you often see both eagles and tawny owls.

Guests with their own motorboat have many nice options for excursions, restaurant visits and shopping. For example, Dalarö village, Stavsnäs village, Björnö-Björkvik Ingarö (nature reserve and beach restaurant), Smådalarö hotel with restaurant and SPA.
It is probably possible to order food delivery to your own jetty via Mathem.
Waxholmsbåtar operates Gränö-Nybroviken Stockholm. Tyresö, Stavsnäs and Saltsjöbaden also have W-boat connections to Gränö. Between Gränö and Käringholmen you can row in about 15 minutes. (Rowing boat to borrow from the owner.) For guests without their own boat, the owner will help arrange some form of transport over to Gränö upon arrival and departure. If this is done with an external party, there will be an additional cost.

The property has its own fishing rights.

Minimum 1 week rental. 3 weeks or more on quote.
Guests clean themselves and bring their own bedlinen and towels. If you cant bring your own linen please ask and we will try to arrange.
Space for your own boat at the jetty/buoy.
Small rowing boat available for loan.
Child cot on request.
