Timbra, Utö

The house is located on a large, sunny plot with a high, free location. Here you have over 4,300 m2 of natural land with some smaller landscaped grass areas, a paved terrace facing the sea and then a large wooden railing that takes over. On either side of the house there are warm and sunny patio decks with views and wind-protected locations and comfortably furnished with a dining area, lounge area and sun loungers as well as an electric grill.

The solid house is 250 years old and originally from Medelpad, but shipped and rebuilt log by log on Utö. Details such as beautiful windows, several fireplaces, beautiful wooden floors and wooden paneling in the ceilings give the unique rural and rustic feeling

Welcoming entrance and hall that extends into the family room. The living room is open in the ridge with several light inlets at different levels and an end wall with many windows facing the sea side. The room is comfortably furnished with a sofa group, reading armchairs and a new Samsung smart TV. Open floor plan facing the newly renovated and well-equipped kitchen with good work surfaces and a beautiful wood stove. Between the kitchen and the living room is the dining area and the rustic fireplace and brick, the heart of the house. Note, due to the risk of fire the indoor fireplace must not be used in summer.
Two bedrooms on the entrance floor, one with a comfortable double bed (180x200 cm) and another with a single bed (120x200 cm). New blackout curtains have been ordered for the summer. Downstairs there is also a separate WC, as well as a bathroom with a sit-down bath with a shower.
The upper floor has a large bright sleeping loft (normal standing height) that covers about half the house. Gable window and a wall of windows where you can look down towards the family room and get a small glimpse of Mysingen. At the loft you sleep in a new double bed (160x200 cm) + a DUX bed (90x200cm). Linen curtains but no blackout curtains in this room.

The house has its own drilled well, air heat pump for heating / cooling and Wifi router.
NOTE: Not handicap-friendly, steep walkway/trail up to the house (no road up).

At Utö Gästhamn by Gruvbryggan there are two nice laundry rooms with two washing machines + dryers that you can book in advance as there is no washing machine in the house.

Bicycle rental is also available here. There are EU mopeds and electric bicycles for rent per day at Utö Sjömack. When you want to go out to sea, you can rent a kayak, SUP or pedal boat at Gruvbyn.

Utö is the largest and outermost island in Stockholm's southern archipelago. The beautiful nature and picturesque environment is very well preserved because large parts of the island are nature reserves. Here you can relax in beautiful nature, sunbathe and swim at wonderful beaches, experience rich wildlife, culture and the island's interesting history.

The island is big and there is a lot to discover. There are several well-marked loops/trails for beautiful walks/jogs in the forest and along the coast, as well as lovely dirt roads to cycle/run/walk on. Pack the bike basket with swimwear and a lunch bag and go on an excursion. In addition to the nice beach and rocks closest to the house, there are many other nice beaches and cliff bathing spots to choose from when you want to discover more of the island. For example; Ålö Storsand, a long beautiful sandy beach. Feel free to combine Ålö Storsand with cozy restaurant Båtshaket, which has tables and benches in the boat shed and out among the rocks.

Utö offers many restaurants and bars. The closest to the house is Bykrogen, about 1.5 km away. At Gruvbyn, which is a bit of a center on the island (about 5 km from the house), there is a restaurant, bakery, café and a few stalls, as well as a well-stocked ICA country store that can also deliver grocery bags to you at the house, and a Systembolag (liquor store) representative.

Regular Waxholm boat to Utö departs from Årsta havsbad and from Strömkajen at the Grand Hotel in Stockholm city. The stop Spränga brygga is the closest to the house, approx. 2.5 km. You book transport to the house with packing through Utö Taxi.
