Sundskär, norra skärgården
ID2895Do you dream of a cottage with unobstructed views of the sea, secluded lake plot, own jetty and wood-fired sauna? The island of Sundskär in the northern archipelago offers beautiful nature, sea views and sunsets that give peace of mind. A wonderful relaxation from everyday life where you can enjoy a completely unique environment! You get a fantastic plot of approximately 9500 sqm of which 4500 sqm lake plot.
Down by the private jetty is the sauna with the possibility of a shower or dip in the sea. Here is also a rowing boat that you can use for a quiet trip or for spin fishing. If you have access to your own motorboat you will easily find the beautiful Söderarmsskärgården with many opportunities for boat excursions and exciting explorations.
The archipelago cottage is nicely decorated and consists of a kitchen with solar-powered refrigerator and gas stove. The kitchen is, despite the lack of electricity, both practical and functional and as a complement there is a small underground storehouse if the fridge gets full and you need to keep food cool. You can brew coffee with a press brewer. The living room is large and homely with a wood stove and a comfortable sofa group as well as a dining area. There is also a small glazed conservatory with table and chairs. The cottage has two bedrooms; (one downstairs and one upstairs) both has two comfortable single beds in each room. Cot / travel cot and high chair can be lent to small children and if necessary you can book an extra bed to place in one of the bedrooms.
Laundry room is in the house, and a well-organized dry toilet is close by.

Here you will find, as you now understand, not all modern conveniences, but exactly what you need. Electricity is lacking on the island but is being replaced by solar cells and liquid-gas. The nice archipelago environment is made to not get caught up in the sights of screens and computers, but there is coverage for mobiles and surfing.
At the cottage there is a terrace in with dining area, as well as a gas-fired barbeque.
Down by the sea there is a newly built terrace which is equipped with a table and six chairs. Here you have a clear view in several directions, a perfect place for coffee, a drink or dinner.
Sundskär is located about 4.5 minutes southeast from Kapellskär. The island is 1,5 km long with mainly deciduous forest and cliffs. There are about five kilometers of nice walking paths, which are kept open by the village team.
Surroundings:
Söderarm's archipelago is an archipelago consisting of hundreds of smaller islands, islets, skerries and cobs bounded by the Åland Sea in the east, Havssvalget in the north, Rankaröfjärden in the west and in the south by a deep channel that stretches from Uddjupet towards Vidinge.
There are many beautiful islands in this part of the archipelago, among the more famous is Inre Hamnskär which is the archipelago's largest island and known for its floral splendor. Most famous of the islands is probably Torskär with Söderarm's lighthouse.
Nice excursion destination near Sundskär if you have access to your own boat:
Lidö is a nature reserve in the middle of Roslagen. Here you will find cobs, cliffs, lovely promenades, bathing areas, a self-sufficient farm, guest harbor with 50 berths and an inn with an archipelago-inspired menu.
Fejan has an exciting history. The former quarantine station for cholera sufferers is a hostel and right by the water is the popular restaurant. Restaurant, guest harbor and regular boat traffic make Fejan an easily accessible destination.
Furusund has given its name to the busy Furusundsleden which passes between Furusund and Yxlan. Furusund is society's and the authors' well-known archipelago paradise that has come to life again. Here carpentry joy, boating, swimming and good food await at Furusund's inn.
Ådskär is a beautiful island with high mountains and barren outer archipelago nature with windswept bushes and cloudberries if you are lucky.
