Lidingö
Lidingö, part of the archipelago around the capital, borders directly to the city of Stockholm. You'll find many beautiful places by the sea here, as well as close proximity to the bustling city life. Discover what the Lidingö nature has to offer through the trails and paths for walking, running et c. At the nature reserve you can observe the flora and the fauna. There are barbecue spots and wind shelters for public use.
The most popular tourist attraction at Lidingö is Millesgården, which was built in 1908 by the renowned artist Carl Milles. It has later been expanded. Now there's also an art exhibition hall, restaurant, collection of antiques, shop and garden with many beautiful sculptures. Lidingö town hall is also a popular visitor's goal, as well as the many sculptures placed on Lidingö.
There's a modern shopping mall at Lidingö centre, with a good selection of goods. If you prefer to go to Stockholm city for even more to choose from when it comes to culture, night-life, shopping and sight-seeing, this is closely located.
There's a regular ferry from Lidingö to Fjäderholmarna, a charming island area with a theatre, beach, restaurants, cafés and lovely small shops with crafts et c.
